SFI activists on Friday staged a strong protest at the nearly 200-year-old Hindu School on College Street, alleging a severe shortage of teachers and deteriorating academic conditions. The demonstrators questioned the state of government-run schools, claiming students were bearing the brunt of administrative neglect.
The protest saw participation from SFI members along with school students and their parents, who expressed concern over disrupted classes and lack of proper guidance. Protesters said vacant teaching posts and inadequate facilities were affecting the quality of education at the historic institution.
Demanding immediate intervention, the protesters urged the school authorities and the education department to fill all vacant teaching positions and improve classroom infrastructure. They warned that continued inaction would further jeopardise students’ academic future.
